Note: We don't really know what she means by "world travel" but if it's commodifying a culture, then that is NOT cool! Our thing is... don't wear it if you don't know what it is. Respect the culture... and don't buy into the corporate agenda of mass marketing folks' cultures and histories. But if she's talking about travel accessories for traveling, then that's all good... We all "need" suitcases, backpacks, bags, sunglasses, comfy cute walking shoes, or neat camera cases for our travels. :)

i know what you mean. i hate trends, but at the same time, i can't help but let it influence by shopping endeavors...

i love reading trend guides in magazines. but i feel sorry for the designers whose work has now become a trend!
exactly!!! designers go through a lot to come up with an original design... but then it gets ripped and mass produced. it sucks both ways because it sucks that we can't afford the original stuff AND that the mass produced is mass produced, un original and gives no credit to the designer.... so it sucks that that's the way it has to be... if only more designers produced originals at friendly costs.... OH WAIT!!! LOCAL & INDEPENDENT DESIGNERS!!! more affordable then haute coulture, most of the time it's original design, usually one of a kind, and you'll be supporting the artist! i think that would be a good solution. :D
