I think it's fabulous that there's alternative events that support independent designers.

Usually, these designers are overlooked when you are in a boutique or store. In department stores, people tend to head on over to their favorite brand designers, instead of checking out the small rack showcasing an indepedent designer. and soon or later, with no recognition, their collection will be booted out in the next season, while the big brand still remains.

So having fashion events that support emerging fashion designers is great, because it puts the spotlight on them, and not the ones we see on billboards and Vogue ads. There's more access to meet and greet the designer her/him self, and view the line... and perhaps even more accessible, in terms of purchasing it (since at events, items are at sample prices or special discounts)!

So go support the next fashion event in your area!!!!
