The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles
(http://www.sjquiltmuseum.org) in partnership with the
Association of Viet Arts (http://www.vietarts.org) is
pleased to announce our collaboration for an
exhibition focusing on the ao dai. The show is planned
to feature both contemporary and historical examples
of ao dai, as well as provide a context for the
development and evolution of style and aesthetic. Ao
Dai: A Modern Design Coming of Age is scheduled to
open at the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles on
April 9, 2006 and run through July 9, 2006.
Its grand opening day event will include a live show
featuring ao dai from the Minh Hanh’s (Viet Nam’s
leading ao dai designer) retrospective collection. For
this show, the museum needs volunteer models from the
community.
